Eunice Mae White 94, passed away at 4:20am December 5, 2017 at Helia Heathcare in Champaign.
In accordance with her wishes she was cremated and the family will receive friends and neighbors from 11:30-1:30 on Friday, December 15 at Owens Funeral Home in Champaign located at 101 N. Elm.
Ms. White was born July 30, 1923 , in Gleazon Indiana the daughter of Irvin and Myrtle Davis. She attended Gleazon schools and graduated from Winslow High School. She worked at a parachute factory as her contribution to the war effort. She was a store clerk, worked for Weller Community Homes and as Executive Housekeeper for the Ramada Inn, Chancellor Hotel, University Inn and Holiday Inn. she was also active in the Parents Without Partners group and loved to dance.
She is survived by her children: Linda Simpson and husband Warren Adams, Son Larry Joe Simpson, and daughter, Lynn Ann Whiteley and husband Larry Scott; step sons, Allan White and wife Donna and family and Mark White and family; several nieces, nephews and extended family. She was especially proud of her granddaughter, Leslie Ann Freeman and grandson Joseph (Joey) Freeman and fiancé Emmy Custer and Great granddaughter Zoey Danyell Freeman. She also leaves behind lifelong friend LaVerne Shaffer and family.
A longtime resident of Westfield Drive, she was known as “Grandma White” and loved the neighbors as her extended family.
