John William Bellamy, 85, of Winslow, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Gateway Hospital in Evansville.
He was born in Pike County April 10, 1931, to Floyd, Sr and Hazel (Knight) Bellamy.
He was a member of Ayrshire Valley G.B. Church and served as deacon for 62 years. A 1948 graduate of Winslow High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1949-1952, also serving in Korea. He was a member of UMWA Local 5179.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor (Blacketer) Bellamy, of Winslow, whom he married November 2, 1951; a son, John Alan Bellamy, of Winslow ; two daughters, Angela (John) Heuring of Petersburg, and Suzanne (Wayne) Cooper, of Wildwood, Mo. ; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Teemer, Amanda (Chris) Becker, and Jonathan C00per, all of Missouri, three great-grand children, Lelaina, Elias and Blakely Becker, all Missouri; and two brothers, Floyd (Mary) Bellamy, Jr., of Winslow, and Robert (Sue) Bellamy, of Bonita Springs, Fla.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 17, 2016, at 3 p.m. EST at Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow, with Rev. Frank Coleman and Rev. Alec Hensley officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Campbelltown.
Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
