Jerri Lou (Reed) Ward – Class of 1948 – June 19, 2015
Jerri Lou Ward, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2015.
Jerri was born April 16, 1930, in Winslow to the late Oscar and Lula Coe Reed. She moved to Indianapolis, IN in 1950 and worked for Western Electric for 26 years. She enjoyed painting, auctions, shopping and travel.
She was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of 1948.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, James P. “Jim” Ward.
Survivors include her closet friends, Larry and Mary McVay, of Indianapolis; a niece, Linda Kay McCandless, of Petersburg; a brother, Wrex Reed, of Port Orange, Fla; stepson, Preston Ward and his wife Nancy; nephew, Eddie Wayne and his wife Nola; her beloved granddaughters, Heather and Sasha Ward; very dearest friends Chris, Patrick and Stephen Mabarak and their families.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 25, 2015, at noon at Oakley-Hammond Funeral, Moore and Kirk Irvington Chapel, 5342 E. Washington St., with Father Bill Marx officiating.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. She will be entombed next to her beloved husband, Jim at Washington Park East Cemetery following the service.
