Russell E. Simpson, 70, of Anderson, IN, died November 30, 2014, at his home in Anderson.
He was born in June 28, 1944, in Oakland City, IN, the son of Cecil and Mary (Wheeler) Simpson.
Russell was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of 1962. He was a former Petersburg resident, having resided in Anderson for the past 18 years. He was a locomotive engineer for 32 years, a member of and and ordained Elder of the Free Methodist Church, Wabash Conference.
Family surviving include his three sones, Brian (wife-Kristi) Simpson and children, Tyler and Jordan, of Winslow, Chris (wife-Jeanette) Simpson and son, Cameron, of Broken Arrow, OK, and Andrew (wife-Meggan) Simpson and children , Allyson, Jacob, and Ella, of Anderson; the mother of his children, Judith Simpson, of Anderson; and a stepsister, Lana Weisman, of Petersburg, IN.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joel and Jerry Simpson; a sister, Virginia Huff; and a stepbrother, Larry Bakeis.
Graveside services were Friday, Dec 05, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Walnut Hills Cemetery, Petersburg, IN, with Pastor Paul Newton officiating.
Friends greeted the family following the service at the Petersburg Free Methodist Church.
Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, of Anderson, was in charge of arrangements.
