Robert W. Nordhorn

On Wednesday, February 2, 2005, Lincoln High School lost a valued teacher and friend with the passing of Mr. Robert Nordhorn. Mr. Nordhorn was employed at Lincoln High School for 35 1/2 years. He worked in a variety of departments starting out as a student teacher and making his way into the Industrial Technology Department, which includes print shop, wood shop, auto shop, drafting, and industrial arts. He most recently worked as the coordinator of curriculum/technology and AV for the Vincennes Community School Corporation. He worked with the band and choir and was the voice of the Alices and the Pride of the Green for many years.
He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family, working on the computer, photography, and building sets, setting lights and sound for the Lincoln High School musicals and productions. Survivors include his wife, Marcia Ann Nordhorn of Vincennes, whom he married August 28, 1971; one daughter and her husband, Kelley and Joseph Krauss of Morris, Illinois; one son and his wife, Clif and Angelia Nordhorn of Knoxville, Tennessee; one brother and his wife, Thomas and Delta Nordhorn of Peachtree City, Georgia; one granddaughter, Hannah Olivia Nordhorn; and three grandsons, Elijah Clay Nordhorn, Jackson Charles Krauss and Nicholas Robert Krauss.
In lieu of flowers, the Robert W. Nordhorn Scholarship Fund has been established to recognize an outstanding Lincoln High School related arts student. Contributions can be sent to Lincoln High School
