Winslow, IN – Mary Margaret (Northerner) Camfield, age 90, of Winslow, Ind., died Wednesday,
February 07, 2007, in Temple, Texas.
She moved to Texas with her son in October 2005. Camfield was employed by the Jasper Memorial Hospital as head of housekeeping for 30 years. She belonged to the Winslow General Baptist Church. She was born on July 07, 1916, in Winslow. She was the daughter of the late John Northerner and the late Anna (Poehlein) Northerner. She was married to Harold Chandler on Sept 28, 1940, and he died on Dec 24, 1943. She then married James E. Camfield on April 23, 1949, and he died on June 26, 2005.
She is survived by her stepdaughter, Rosemary Brewster of Petersburg, Ind.; son, Darrell Chandler of Temple, Texas; one sister, Jessie Hatt of Petersburg, Ind.; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a great grandson.
In leiu of flowers donations may be sent to the Winslow General Baptist Church or the Winslow High School Alumni Fund.
Arrangements are being handled by Curtis Funeral Home, 300 Walnut St., Winslow, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 14, 2007. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb 15, 2007, at Curtis Funeral Home, Rev. Dan Payne officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery in Winslow, Ind.
