Maribeth Cox Dowell, formerly of Winslow, Indiana passed away Sunday, February 05, 2012 at St. Vincents Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana,
She was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of 1966. She then graduated from Indiana University and began a teaching career in the Indianapolis Public Schools where she taught until she retired. She especially loved animals and was also very active in the Indianapolis Eastside Community Action Group, a neighborhood association.
Maribeth is survived by two cousins and her long time friend and caregiver, Pam Gregory, a fellow teacher. Her parents, Mary and Arthur “Sasser” Cox, preceeded her in death.

Someone once asked the famous tap dancer, Gregory Hines, how long he would dance and he responded ” I’m going to dance until I can’t.”
Even in death, Maribeth continues to give and has generously donated her body to IU Research Center in an effort to help us learn about her rare form of cancer.
