Sherl Steven “Steve” Kinder III, 74, of Gold Canyon Ariz, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, May 15, 2017.
Steve was born to Sherl C. and Lucille Kinder and grew up in Winslow, IN where he went on to be captain of his high school basketball team. He graduated from Winslow High School in 1960.
He spent four years in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served his country in Vietnam.
After his tour, he moved to the Orlando, Fla. , area where he worked for Bendix at the Kennedy Space Center, and continued his education and received a bachelor’s degree from University of Central Florida.
In 1973, he assumed the position of Director of Personnel at Sea World of Florida, where he stayed until 1985. After which he worked as a consultant in HR out placement, as well as taught UCF.
In 1996, he and his wife, Peggy, moved to Arizona, settling in Grand Canyon
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Peggy; three children, Steven (Sharla) Kinder of Cocoa FL, Robbie (Heather) Milstead, of Alpharetta, GA., and Shelle (Garrett) Beane, of Gilbert, AZ; and six grandchildren, Morgan, Sean, Kalen, Madison, Landon and Ryan.
There will be a family-only service at the Arizona National Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors on June 26, 2017.
A public “Celebration of Life” service will be June 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. at the Gold Canyon Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
