1950 Eskimos Enjoying Sectional and Regional Win
Wonderful reading the Evansville Courier from March 06, 1950, Coach and Mrs Kern McGlothlin and son, Jerry, agree in reading an account of the Winslow Eskimos’ first regional victory. Winslow defeated Loogootee and Vincennes last Saturday. In the photo on the right: Dick Kinder, Winslow’s high scoring guard (who banged in ten baskets in both of the regional contests) looks at a picture of Winslow’s team while his mother and father, Mr & Mrs Ed Kinder with him speculating what the future holds for his gymless team. A special friend of Kinder’s, Miss Sally Brown, is shown in the inset with some of the nets taken from the wins.
Upper photo to left is Mr & Mrs Walter Farley, talk over the Eskimos chances, son Dick, the peerless center sees that everything is running smoothly inside the hood, Lower left, Miss Lenore Vinyard and Gary (Chancy) Alley spin some records. Right shows Dick Wood, reserve center, on the Eskimos and father, Mr. John Wood in front of a typical outdoor goal seen in many Hoosier backyards.
